Forklift Operator

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating a sit down, propane powered forklift to load and unload trailers, as well as move pallets around the yard and dock. You will need to unload trailers and move material by hand when necessary. We’re looking for a motivated individual who will keep things moving at a safe and efficient pace!  

• Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood to the proper location inside the plant

• Unload trailers and move materials by hand when necessary 

• Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area

• Stack finished products into trailers or to storage areas up to a safe height

• Maintain a safe working environment by lifting, stacking, and transporting materials with all other plant personnel in mind 

• 2 -3 years of sit down, propane forklift experience 

• Previous experience in dock work a plus

• Will be working on a dock

• Willingness to work in a labor intensive environment 

• Ability to communicate effectively 

• Willing to work overtime as needed

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate

• Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths in time

• The noise level in the work environment is dependent on location 

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
